Colordome/Colorburst Recalibration Service

Is your colordome (or handheld colorburst) in need of recalibration?  To learn more about recalibration, please see related article titled "About Calibration" and "Check Calibration Status".

If you are ready for a re calibration service, please submit a request for quote to:

Include in your email the following items:

  • Your Colordome's (or Colorburst) Serial Number.
  • Your name (or name of person who should be quoted), Institution, Institution address, Phone number

You will emailed back with a quote from support.  Please provide a PO to Diagnosys prior to calibration service.

For an additional fee, we may be able to fulfill the calibration service with an onsite visit.  This service affords a shorter disruption to operations at your site.  Calibration service performed onsite can be completed within a few hours without the need to ship product back to Diagnosys.


Shipping Instructions for Mail in service


See attached file for more detailed instructions on how to remove the color dome for shipment.

1.  Check for shipping box: Do you have the original ColorDome box? 

The ColorDome is delicate and must be packaged properly prior to shipping. 

If you do not have the original ColorDome box, please notify Diagnosys Support.

Provide your preferred shipping address and a box will be sent to you.


2.  Prepare the ColorDome for shipment: Unplug it from the system. 

The ColorDome has a long tail that leaves from the back and connects into 3 places. The first is a power connection that connects to a large black power supply isolated from the rest of the system.  The second is a medium thickness cable that connects into either the E3 console or Red Control box on cart systems.  The third is an incredibly thin and fragile cable that connects the camera to the USB video converter.

Unplug each of these connections. 





The power connection has a locking mechanism that must be dealt with.  Take a minute to study the image below to properly disconnect the power cord from the Colordome's power supply.


3.  Pack up the box: Include only the ColorDome. 

Only send the ColorDome, no extra parts are necessary. 

Flip the ColorDome over and slide it into place in the bottom foam insert.  It should sit securely in place  Take the top foam piece and slide the ColorDome cable through the slit.  Pull the cord all the way through as you place the foam over the ColorDome.  Neatly coil up the cord on top of the foam.  Close up the box and seal with packing tape.  See images below for a visual explanation.

Colorburst Shipping Instructions

1.  Disconnect Colorburst from Diagnosys Equipment and package in any box it will fit in.  Please use bubble wrap when packaging.




After completion of our recalibration service, you will be provided with a new calibration file which must be copied into the C:/Multifocal folder on the computer running your Diagnosys system.

The file will appear as  Typically we will email this file to you using the support ticket that was opened when a quote was requested.

This new calibration file is intended to replace the old file.
